ICON ACQUIRES CRAWLERS CONCEPTZ PRODUCT LINE
ICON Vehicle Dynamics, a premiere designer and manufacturer of off-road, truck and SUV suspension systems, shocks and wheels, has acquired the intellectual property, product designs and brands of Crawler Conceptz, a manufacturer of high value bumpers and armor products for Jeeps and trucks. The move strengthens ICON’s position in the Jeep and 4X4 armor market, which is a natural fit with its established product lines in suspension and wheels. Many of the existing Crawler Conceptz product designs, including select bumpers, rocker armor and fender flares for Jeep Wrangler JK and JL, will be re-branded as ICON Impact Armor. Each SKU will receive a thorough design review, including any upgrades or improvements before production. For example, all ICON Impact products will now carry a high quality multi-stage powder coat finish, in contrast to the unfinished bare steel and aluminum products formerly offered by Crawler Conceptz. “It was a great move for everyone involved,” ICON President Tony DiGuglielmo said. “Crawler Conceptz was having some growing pains, and we were looking to expand our offerings in that segment.” ICON Sales Manager Fred Brayton agreed. “The new Impact products are a great addition to our existing product line. ICON Vehicle Dynamics is excited to announce the arrival of our latest off-road armor product, the IMPACT Series Jeep JL/JT Front Bumper. After a thorough evaluation of the Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT platforms, ICON set out to create a bumper that improved off-road utility by protecting critical components, improving approach angle, and providing ample room in the fender well area for suspension articulation and accessory function. In typical ICON fashion our engineers also developed a bumper that could easily be customized to suit different tastes or needs with the addition of optional Mid and Full-Width Wing Kits. ICON IMPACT Series Off-Road Armor is built with a blend of trail-worthy ruggedness and lightweight performance in mind as the center section is constructed of high strength 3/16" plate steel while the interchangeable “wings” utilize 3/16" aluminum. The included skid plate is also constructed of 3/16" aluminum and provides exceptional protection for vulnerable OE components while keeping overall weight in mind. NEW PRODUCT | 2014-UP FORD EXPEDITION SUSPENSION SYSTEMS
ICON Vehicle Dynamics is proud to announce the release of our complete suspension systems for the 2014-UP Ford Expedition. Currently available in two layouts with unique upper control arm options, these systems provide up to a 20% increase in wheel travel and allow for the fitment of larger and more aggressive tires. Like any application that makes its way into ICON’s research and development department, the Ford Expedition was examined thoroughly in stock form in an attempt to find where the OE components were limiting performance or could be improved upon. After hours of in-house R&D and thousands of miles of real-world testing, a collection of ICON components including front and rear coilovers and upper control arms were organized into two staged suspension systems that each delivers a unique level of performance to the Expedition. A remarkable level of performance is established with the 2.5 Series remote reservoir CDC Valve shocks included in ICON’s Stage 1 system, and only improves with the addition of upper control arms (tubular steel or billet aluminum) in the Stage 2 systems. These systems drastically increase the vehicle’s ride quality, reduce body roll, maximize wheel travel, and provide a lift height range of .75-2.25” to allow for the fitment of larger, more aggressive wheel and tire combinations. A bolt-on design also makes for an easy install with the ability for the vehicle to be returned to stock if needed.
