Delta Joint
The durability of a ball joint with the articulation of a uniball. A sealed, greasable, high angle joint built to survive road salt and trail debris — not just tolerate them.

What Is The ICON Delta Joint?
The ICON Delta Joint is a heavy duty, high angle ball joint for upper control arms. It pairs the sealed durability of a factory-style ball joint with the bind-free articulation of a traditional uniball, so a lifted truck keeps full suspension travel without exposing the joint’s internals to the elements.
- Delta Joint — the original. Sold as a retrofit kit for existing ICON upper control arms.
- Delta Joint PRO — the current generation. Fitted to ICON’s current tubular and billet upper control arms.
Uniball Vs Delta Joint
The industry standard uniball does a great job of letting control arms articulate with little bind. It has one inherent weakness: exposure to the elements. Whether it is corrosive chemicals used on roadways or the unforgiving dirt and mud that comes with off-road adventure, a uniball lets that debris build up and work its way into the internals, causing wear and possibly failure. Understanding that flaw is what led ICON to develop the Delta Joint.
Traditional Uniball
The industry standard
- Open design lets road salt, dirt and mud reach the internals
- Debris build-up drives wear and possible failure
- Needs frequent inspection and replacement on a daily driver
- Articulates with little bind — the one thing it does well
ICON Delta Joint
Sealed • Greasable • High angle
- Sealed design keeps road salts and debris out
- Zinc plated housing for exceptional corrosion resistance
- Metal-on-metal internals increase longevity
- Pullout strength greater than a comparable industry standard uniball
- Greasable, pre-greased with waterproof moly grease, two adapters included
- High angularity for lifted applications, without the uniball's weakness
Delta Joint Vs Delta Joint PRO
Delta Joint PRO is ICON’s current articulation joint, combining the durability and longevity of factory style ball joints with performance and strength that exceeds traditional motorsports-style ball joints. Here is what separates the two generations.
Delta Joint
Original • Retrofit kit
- Sealed, greasable, zinc plated housing
- Metal-on-metal internals
- Carburized taper pin resists thread galling on assembly
- Sold as a retrofit kit for existing ICON upper control arms
Delta Joint PRO
Current generation
- Larger ball with 56% more bearing surface
- Full 90° of articulation — a 14% gain in range of motion
- Chromoly ball and shaft, bearing surface hardened to Rockwell C 55
- Replaceable graphite-impregnated sintered metal races
- Serviceable and rebuildable, with improved lubrication sealing
- Fitted to ICON's current tubular and billet upper control arms

The original Delta Joint is still available as a retrofit kit with application-specific taper pins, so you can add it to ICON arms you already own. An installation adapter and angled shim are available separately.
Delta Joint Specifications
Durability
Zinc plated housing provides exceptional corrosion resistance, metal-on-metal internals increase longevity, and a carburized taper pin reduces the chance of thread galling on assembly.
Sealed Design
A sealed design protects the Delta Joint from the elements, road salts and other debris — the failure path that shortens uniball life.
Angularity
Capable of the high angularity required for optimal performance in lifted applications.
Strength
Pullout strength greater than a comparable industry standard uniball.
Greasable
Greasable design with two adapters included. Every Delta Joint ships pre-greased with quality waterproof moly grease.
Fitment
Application-specific taper pins for a precise fit across the wide range of vehicles ICON builds suspension systems for.
ICON Exclusive 5 Year Limited Warranty
ICON Vehicle Dynamics is confident enough in the Delta Joint to back it with a product-specific warranty. As long as the Delta Joint is used in conjunction with a complete ICON suspension system, ICON stands behind it with a 5 year limited warranty against defects or failures.
*The 5 year limited warranty applies when the Delta Joint is used in conjunction with a complete ICON suspension system. See the registration page for full terms.
Delta Joint FAQ
What is the ICON Delta Joint?
The ICON Delta Joint is a heavy duty, high angle ball joint for upper control arms. It combines the durability and sealing of a factory-style ball joint with the articulation of a traditional uniball, so a lifted truck keeps full bind-free suspension travel without exposing the joint's internals to road salt, dirt and mud.
How is the Delta Joint different from a uniball?
A uniball articulates well but is open to the elements. Corrosive road chemicals and off-road debris work into the internals, causing wear and possible failure. The Delta Joint uses a sealed design with a zinc plated housing and metal-on-metal internals to keep that debris out, while still delivering the high angularity a lifted front end needs. ICON also rates its pullout strength as greater than a comparable industry standard uniball.
What is Delta Joint PRO and how is it different from the original Delta Joint?
Delta Joint PRO is the current generation. It uses a larger ball with 56% more bearing surface than the standard Delta Joint, delivers a full 90 degrees of articulation — a 14% improvement in range of motion — and uses a chromoly ball and shaft with the bearing surface hardened to Rockwell C 55. Its races are replaceable graphite-impregnated sintered metal, and a redesigned lubrication system distributes grease more efficiently without extending past the bearing seal. Unlike the original, Delta Joint PRO is serviceable and rebuildable.
Can I buy Delta Joint PRO on its own?
No. Delta Joint PRO is supplied already installed in ICON's current tubular and billet upper control arms rather than as a standalone joint. If you want to add a Delta Joint to upper control arms you already own, use the original Delta Joint retrofit kits.
Which ICON upper control arms come with Delta Joint PRO?
Delta Joint PRO is fitted to ICON's current tubular and billet upper control arm kits across the Ford Bronco, F-150 Raptor, Toyota Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Lexus GX550, 4Runner and Chevrolet Colorado platforms, among others. Use the Delta Joint PRO listing to filter to your vehicle.
Can I retrofit a Delta Joint into upper control arms I already have?
Yes, if they are ICON upper control arms. ICON sells Delta Joint retrofit kits with application-specific taper pins for its own arms. An installation adapter and angled shim are also available separately.
Does the Delta Joint need to be greased?
The Delta Joint is a greasable design and ships pre-greased with quality waterproof moly grease. Two grease adapters are included so it can be serviced rather than replaced.
Is the Delta Joint covered by a warranty?
Yes. ICON offers an exclusive 5 year limited warranty against defects or failures when the Delta Joint is used in conjunction with a complete ICON suspension system. Registration is required — see ICON's Delta Joint registration page for full terms.
