ICON's Compression Damping Electronic Valve (CDEV), powered by ICON Intelligent Control (IIC), makes automatic, instantaneous adjustments to shock damping to deliver the right setting for the situation you're actually in. Not the one you set up for twenty miles ago.

ICON Intelligent Control is the computer that monitors, analyzes, and processes data in real time. Information from the onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope feeds calculations based on ICON algorithms and user-defined settings, predicting terrain and wheel position as you drive.
IIC collects information over 1,000 times per second, processes it, and delivers the resulting changes to CDEV in under 40 milliseconds. It also acts as the data driver connecting you to ICON's mobile app for monitoring and adjusting shock settings.
What It Reads
Onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope inputs, sampled over 1,000 times per second, interpreted against ICON's algorithms and the parameters you've set.
What It Does With It
Predicts terrain and wheel position, then commands the CDEV valves — the full loop from reading to damping change completes in under 40 milliseconds.
5. Compression Damping Control — Electrified
CDEV is an electronically controlled valve that meters the flow of oil to regulate the damping force the shock creates under compression. Because it's infinitely variable rather than stepped, it can make extremely precise adjustments as terrain changes.
- Infinitely variable: No fixed detents or preset steps — the valve meters oil flow continuously across its range.
- Reacts in under 40ms: Fast enough to respond to an obstacle rather than to the memory of one.
- Tailored per application: CDEV's hydraulic circuits are custom-built for each vehicle to create the highest resolution and dynamic range that platform allows.
6. An ICONIC Interface
The IIC app brings the technology together with a straightforward interface to monitor, record, and adjust the system over Bluetooth. Change the shocks' baseline firmness, then tune how aggressively the system reacts — vertical G-Boost and lateral Corner Boost — in a few taps from your iOS device.

Three pre-configured modes — Normal, Desert, and Haul — plus the ability to create an unlimited number of your own presets from custom settings.
Trip Data
Record time, speed, distance, and G-forces from a run and review it afterward as your own ICONIC Overview.

7. What Does All of This Mean?
The point of IIC and CDEV is that the shocks land on their ideal setting for the terrain and the driving style without you ever taking your eyes off the road.
On a washboard road at speed
You're blasting down a high-speed washboard road and a larger obstacle appears. The system increases shock damping automatically to help absorb the impact — no warning needed, no knob to reach.
Out the other side, the pace drops and the trail smooths out. Damping comes back down to deliver a compliant, comfortable ride. Hardcore off-road performance, smooth on-road comfort, or anywhere in between — the system covers the range without you managing it.
