NEW PRODUCT: 2007-2017 Toyota Tundra RXT Rear Suspension System
The 2007-2017 Toyota Tundra is a very capable and versatile truck with features that make it suitable for everything from a daily driver to a tow rig to an adventure vehicle. From the brutal deserts of the Southwest to the wooded trails of the East Coast, ICON suspension systems have been tested and proven for this popular Toyota. Over hundreds of hours in the shop and thousands of off-road miles, ICON Vehicle Dynamics engineers have pushed this vehicle to extremes to develop sophisticated suspension components. Aiming to raise the bar in Tundra performance, ICON introduces the RXT Rear Suspension System.
Through an accelerated testing process dubbed the “ICON1K” R&D program, ICON pushed the Tundra to off-road extremes to identify OE component limitations and extract further performance. Designed for everything from high-speed desert running to remote expeditions, the RXT Rear Suspension System includes a new ICON multi-rate leaf spring, a hydraulic rear bump stop kit, and three RXT-specific 2.5 Series rear shock options. This system replaces limiting factory components and increases wheel travel by 20%, with adjustable leaf spring rates for different vehicle setups.
ICON RXT Multi-Rate Leaf Spring
The backbone of the Tundra RXT Rear Suspension System is a user-adjustable multi-rate leaf pack that delivers major performance gains for nearly any accessory or gear setup. Tip inserts and leaf separators reduce friction and improve comfort, while a military-wrapped front eyelet increases durability. The spring rate is lowered slightly to enhance ride quality and droop travel. For Tundras outfitted with heavy accessories such as bed racks, roof-top tents, or spare tires, the pack includes an additional leaf that can raise the spring rate by 15% or 25%.
ICON RXT Rear Shocks
To complement the RXT Multi-Rate Leaf Spring, ICON developed three new shock options: a 2.5 Series remote reservoir shock, a 2.5 Series CDC Valve shock, and a two-tube Omega bypass option. A unique side-mount eyelet design provides a shorter collapsed length and longer extension while fitting the factory location. A large 10-inch remote reservoir enhances heat dissipation and reduces shock fade.
ICON Hydraulic Rear Bump Stop Kit
The bump stop controls and limits suspension position during up-travel. Factory rubber bump stops have low energy absorption and rebound harshness, resulting in poor handling in rough terrain. ICON's hydraulic bump stop kit absorbs and releases energy more smoothly, improving predictability and control. Velocity-sensitive technology increases damping with higher shaft speeds for excellent bottoming resistance without hindering articulation.
