ICON Hits the Trails at FJ Summit 9
ICON Vehicle Dynamics at the 9th Annual FJ Summit
As 2015 progressed, the ICON Vehicle Dynamics staff were excited to head to Ouray, Colorado, for the 9th annual FJ Summit. The beauty of the San Juan Mountains is indescribable, and this event truly must be experienced firsthand.

Day One: Poughkeepsie Gulch Trail
We began our adventure with the Demello Off-road crew at the Poughkeepsie Gulch trailhead. After airing down tires and adjusting the CDC valves, we set off. Although Poughkeepsie is known as one of the most difficult trails, our Stage 7 equipped Toyota FJ Cruiser handled the terrain well—until we encountered “The Wall.” This steep, rocky slope was made more challenging by recent rains.
The ICON FJ successfully climbed the slope with lockers and A-Trac activated, and the team spent the day assisting other vehicles. Only half a dozen vehicles completed the climb without assistance.

Day Two: Imogene Pass
We began with a fuel stop, then headed to Imogene Pass, one of the most scenic trails in the area, featuring water crossings and incredible photo opportunities. Along the way, we met Ray from Pure FJ Cruiser, who joined our group. As we climbed higher, leftover winter snow became more common.
At the summit, we took photos and enjoyed the views. Heading down towards Telluride, we encountered abandoned mining structures from the region's history.

Customer Appreciation Party
Later, we returned to Ouray and attended the Demello Off-road / ICON / Toytec / Nitro Gear / Baja Designs customer appreciation party at Ouray Brewery. The event saw a huge turnout, with great food, drinks, and giveaways enjoyed by everyone.

Vendor Booth and Raffle
During the event, we enjoyed interacting with Toyota fans at our booth. The Saturday night raffle featured many prizes. A big thank you goes out to all vendors who sponsored the party, including:
- Demello Off-road
- Toytec Lifts
- Nitro Gear and Axle
- Baja Designs
We also thank all ICON supporters and look forward to seeing everyone at FJ Summit 10!
